Can We Count on Your Clinic to Make the South Okanagan Dementia Friendly?

Canada has a national dementia strategy. Several provinces have their own. British Columbia does not.

Over the last two years, through more than 18 Memory Cafés across our communities, one message has been clear: medical clinics are on the frontlines of dementia prevention, diagnosis, and community support.

Collaborative opportunities for your clinic

The Medical Arts Health Research Group is now working with UBC and partners to launch a provincial Dementia-Friendly Medical Office program. This initiative will give clinics access to:

  • The latest diagnostics and referral pathways
  • Evidence-based prevention tools, including the 14 modifiable risk factors
  • Community support networks to better serve patients and families
