Dr. Stuart Seigel graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science in 1976, and went on to complete his Medical Degree from Queen’s University in 1983. Dr. Seigel completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Calgary and his Fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Ottawa. He currently works in private practice as a consultant Rheumatologist at the Kelowna General Hospital. Since 2006, Dr. Seigel has been involved in clinical research as an Investigator with the Medical Arts Health Research Group, focusing on Rheumatoid and Psoriatic Arthritis.

Dr. Tersia Lichtenstein attended the University of Pretoria in South Africa where she obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) in 1986, and her Masters in Family Medecine (MMED) in 1998. After working as a General Practitioner and Medical Officer in South Africa, Dr. Lichtenstein moved to Canada in 2001 to continue her medical career. She currently practices at a clinic in Kelowna, BC, and has also worked as an Investigator for the Medical Arts Health Research Group in Kelowna since 2008. Dr. Lichetenstein’s areas of clinical research include: Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Alzheimer’s Disease, Shingles Pain, Sleep Disorders, Migraine, Diabetes and Cancer Pain.


Dr. Justin Naude

Dr. Justin Naude graduated with a medical degree from the University of Pretoria in South Africa, and also holds a diploma of Sports Medicine from Scotland. He completed his fellowship and post-graduate training in South Africa and Canada. Since 1997, Dr. Naude has been working as an Orthopaedic Surgeon in Penticton, BC where he has a private practice. Dr. Naude has a keen interest in research and extensive experience as an Orthopaedic Surgeon, and has also worked as a Principal Investigator in clinical trials for the Medical Arts Health Research Group in Penticton since 2006.


Dr. Miranda Du Preez

Dr. Miranda Du Preez graduated from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, in 1998 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB), and has completed the Certification exam of the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFPC). Dr. Du Preez worked at the Middleburg Hospital in Mphumalanga, South Africa from 1999-2001. In 2001 she moved to Canada and currently practices family medicine in Kamloops, BC. Dr. Du Preez has been actively involved in clinical research for over 10 years and has worked as an Investigator for the Medical Arts Health Research Group since 2009.


Dr. Jack Kooy

Dr. Jack Kooy attended the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa where he obtained his Medical Degree (MBChB) in 1987. He completed his post-graduate training at Frere Hospital in East London, South Africa. In 1990, Dr. Kooy passed the Qualifying Canadian Exams and moved to Saskatchewan before opening his practice in Penticton, BC, in 1993. In addition to his general practice, Dr Kooy has worked as an Investigator at the Medical Arts Health Research Group since 2003. His many areas of clinical study include: Asthma, COPD, Obesity, Alzheimer’s Disease, Hip and Knee Replacement, Diabetes, Migraine, Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
