General Description:
Coordinators carry out and document procedures required in the Clinical Study protocols under the direction of a Site Manager. Personal traits must include extreme attention to detail and accuracy, well organized, able to follow directions and be extremely personable, caring and service oriented team players.
Results
To recruit and retain patients through the start-up, recruiting and retention systems of the company to meet and exceed sponsor and patient needs.
Work Schedule
Coordinators may be required to work evenings, weekends, extended hours as well as irregular work weeks specifically during heavy recruiting or audit times.
Main Task and Responsibilities
Strategic Work
Coordinators perform following strategic work:
Participate in Daily Site Huddle and Weekly Site Meetings in order to contributes to problem solving and the continuous improvement in achieving site and corporate goals. ; Always watching for ways to improve service to patients, monitors and sponsors and brings suggestions to Site Manager
Tactical Work
Coordinators perform following tactical work:
- Monitor Visits
- ICF’s
- MMSE
- Budget assessments
- Protocol reviews
- ADAS cog
- Study specific procedures as indicated in protocol
- Inclusion Exclusion criteria
- All tasks listed under Research Assistant position
- Inventory: order, receive, store, archive, quarantine and return or destroy drug, study supplies, recruiting materials, and lab supplies
- Monitor temperatures of drug, biological samples, lab kits.
- Database: enter and retrieve study, patient, sponsor, or supplier information accurately
- Labs: prepare, store and ship biological samples as directed in study protocols and lab manuals
- Assure expired lab kits quarantined and destroyed
- Complete CRF’s from source documents
- Prescreen Patients
- Interview patients for Demographics
- Take blood pressures, pulse and respiratory rates
- Take weight, height and waist circumference
- Perform ECG
- Drug accountability
- Coordinate patient appointments with doctor, nurses, coordinators or outside services
- Interview patients for Medical Histories
- Provide and document patient reimbursements
- Interview and follow procedure for AE’s
- Interview and follow procedure for SAE’s
- Makes necessary appointments with doctors, labs, patients, raters etc.
- Maintain all files and records in meticulous order and appropriate completeness
- Scheduled equipment calibration
- Queries
- Maintain annual CV and license file for site
- Complete sponsor feasibility questionnaires with the appropriate input from physicians
Requirements
RN/LPN ; ACRP Certification within 2.5 years
